Good governance is a key part of our structure. The purpose of our governance structure is to support the sustainability of the Camphill Community at Tigh a’Chomainn, to promote the work of Camphill, to continue the development of associative practice and to ensure good practice and legal compliance.

Tigh a’Chomainn is registered as a company and charity. The trustees of Tigh a’Chomainn are directors of the limited company. Trustees meet seven times a year.

Day to day management is undertaken by a management team. The management is as follows:

All are SSSC registered managers

Sophia Zimmermann
Sophia has worked extensively in social care with children and adults since 2000 as a support worker, senior support worker and as a manager.

Sophia is involved in developing and delivering a training programme to Camphills across Scotland and is a member of the Cairnlee management committee.

BA in Curative Education/Social Therapy,
NVQ leadership and management in care level 4

Primary role:
Care and Support lead, training, development.

Margaret Swerling
Margaret has worked and lived extensively in Camphill, working with children and adults in a number of roles ranging from support worker to manager.

Margaret is a board member of Camphill Scotland.

BA in Curative Education

(Currently undertaking the mental health seminar).

Primary role:
Financial operating officer

Tom Marx
Tom has worked in various roles in Camphill including as a support worker, as a manager and as a board member.
