Creative Resilience

At very short notice, with no preparation, the Co-workers at Tigh a’Chomainn responded with creativity implementing a high quality meaningful day service which addressed both the individual residents’ needs but also the community dynamic.

How did we achieve this?

By listening to the residents

By empowering the co-workers and staff to be creative to create a therapeutic balance to the day and week

By thinking out of the box e.g creating a shop and ‘pub’ in house to meet the needs of everyone in the community

By supporting the short term volunteer co-workers who decided to stay because they cared and valued the meaningful relationships they had developed between themselves and with the residents

By creating a work life balance for everyone that recognises that quality relationships need to be at the forefront of any planning

By creating peaceful quiet moments for everyone and being  sensitive and responsive in the moment when a need arises

By creating festive moments for the whole community
