Co-workers
A shared community
Those who offer the essential support for those with special needs in our Community are known as co-workers. Tigh a'Chomainn has long-term and short-term co-workers.
As a co-worker at Tigh a'Chomainn you will play an important and valuable role in the life of our community. Our community life is based on mutual respect and support for each other. This creates opportunities for everyone in terms of growth and fulfillment.
Our short-term co-workers include people who come to
Tigh a'Chomainn from all over the world. Normally they work with us on a
voluntary basis for about a year. Others may come for shorter
periods.
Our co-workers bring different cultures and experiences
with them, as well as vigour and enthusiasm. They gain new skills and
perspectives, and a broader understanding of people during their time with
us.
Older people, bringing life experience and skills, are welcome
too.
Everyone who lives in the Camphill communities regards their work
not as a job, but as a way of life. Tigh a'Chomainn co-workers are not paid directly
for the work they do, but their needs are met from the resources of the
community.Every year volunteers join our community to share and experience our life and
work. Help to make a real difference - it could change your life and ours.
