Applications
People considering a placement at Tigh a’Chomainn are invited to an informal meeting with residents and co-workers. Carers and support workers also make a vital contribution to the process. If, after these discussions, it is thought by all involved that Tigh a’Chomainn is likely to be an appropriate placement, we suggest a two week trial visit. This allows everyone an opportunity to get to know one another and provides a firmer basis for a decision. After the first three months of residence, a review is held at which all parties concerned are present and the continuation of the placement is confirmed.
Applications must be sponsored by the relevant Social Work Department. Regular reviews are held, at which Social Work representation is considered essential. Planning for the future is a vital element of all reviews.
